The whole roll #31
Luna Park, Sydney on Ilford Vintage Tone was a perfect match. It was a bit crazy bananas finishing the roll in the Australian bush, but I'm not mad about it. What do you think?
The whole roll #1 can be found here (where you can read about the origins of this project). Other “Whole Rolls” are here. I’ve put the details of the film stock, camera dev and scanning under the images so those who don’t care don’t have to read about it.
When I was buying film for a trip away in March, my wonderful lab guy (Les Porter) in Newcastle gave me a roll of this strange but intriguing colour film: Ilford Vintage Tone 400. Luna Park seemed like the perfect match for this, and I was right.
Then I had half a roll left and finished it off in the bush. Still fun, but a bit weird.
We had been promising the kids a trip to Luna Park since we got to Australia. With Felix’s mum visiting us back in April, we decided that the last few days before she flew home from Sydney were probably a good time to do it. Though she doesn’t necessarily love fun parks, she also does not hate them as much as I do.
Yes, hate. Hate deeply and strongly. But I put on a brave face and did it anyway. She very kindly paid for us to stay in a hotel right nearby and you get to enjoy a few photos of our buffet breakfast, our bed and our views at the View Hotel.

This was a roll of Ilford Ilfocolor Vintage Tone 400. 24 frames stretched to 27. I shot this on my dad’s old Nikon FM with a 50mm Nikkor f1.8 lens.
The roll was developed by ProAm in Newcastle and scanned by Ben using his SLR scanning set up.

So many good ones!! The fairy floss + popcorn was my fav.
Ooh i love the colors of this - a great match for both the fun park and the woods.
Also I hate amusement parks too! Hot, crowded and smell of vomit lol
